The common story goes like this: the divinity of Jesus was a slow, gradual invention — a Greek corruption of a simple Jewish teacher that was finally made official at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

However, when you go back to the actual sources — the Aramaic Targums, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the mystical literature of Second Temple Judaism — that story falls apart completely.

Long before Nicaea. Long before Constantine. Long before the word “Trinity” existed — the Jewish mind was already wrestling with a God who was at once completely unknowable and undeniably present. Already expecting a divine figure who would bridge the infinite gap between heaven and earth.

The deity of Yeshua was not imported from Greece. It grew from Jewish soil.
